You will find the residents are friendly and helpful, the traffic minimal and the area serene. Columbia, the state capital, is a 30 minute drive, and Charlotte, NC is a little over an hour. Both Columbia and Charlotte airports offer easy access to air travel. The Fairfield County Airport offers services for private aircraft of prop and small jets.

In the northeastern portion of the county, is Lake Wateree and Lake Wateree State Park. In the southwestern portion of the county is Lake Monticello. Both lakes offer over 20,000 surface acres of recreation, fishing and camping. Wild turkey and white tailed deer are major game attracting hunters every year.
